What am I doing in

Alaska?

I recently moved to Anchorage, Alaska and I can't wait to tell you about it! My husband and his family are from Anchorage, and I'm from Seattle, so it feels good to be back in the upper left USA. I want to share a bit about what I'm up to!

For Fun?

If you've ever thought of visiting Alaska, I highly recommend. There is something exciting, beautiful, and adventurous going on. As a soccer player we are still playing coed on 2 teams, but also spend much of our time doing other activities like ice skating, hiking, skiing, rafting, and anything else you can think of! Don't worry, I still spend lots of time reading, sewing, and just spending time with my family. We miss all our people in Austin, but I'm so happy to be here!

What about work

To start: Disclosure: Now that I work for a big company rather than my own practice, it's important to note that all my opinions, statements and suggestions online are my own, and not those of the company. As a reminder, any information gained from me via social media, are my own ideas for educational purposes and not professional advice or therapeutic services.

What do I do now?

I am the new child psychologist in the children's hospital in Anchorage! Specifically I'll work on the Consultation Liaison Service!

What is Consultation Liaison
CL is a medical service that focuses on patients with both medical and psychiatric conditions. CL collaborates with medical providers to support in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in medical units. CL bridges the gap between patient care and provider collaboration to support through direct consultation and intervention with patients and connection with medical staff. Some examples of CL might be differential diagnoses, needle phobias,  pill swallowing, assessing post-procedure functioning, managing new and chronic symptoms, processing new diagnoses, referrals and outpatient treatment planning.
